Fall Equinox Day Retreat – ‘Walking in Beauty’
with Illana Berger
Sept. 16, 2018 1:00 – 5:00

In beauty I walk
With beauty before me I walk
With beauty behind me I walk
With beauty above me I walk
With beauty around me I walk

It has become beauty again . . .

Are you curious about what you don’t know? Do you long to experience new tree lined mountains, purple half-lit vistas, red-gold skies at sunrise and sunset? Do you want to know the hungry spirits that live inside yourself and the ones who live in your closet, work in your office, walk through your grocery store barely letting you see them? You know the ones I mean?

Do you intend to walk through the world with a willing heart? Walk with the truth of suffering and the truth of joy at the same time? Be okay not to fix, not to judge, not to blame, and not to run away? Do you long to learn to just stand there! To really be present with everything that is arising just as it is?

This is what it means to walk in beauty. A phrase that the Dine’ (Navajo) people prayerfully bless their children, themselves, each other and the earth. They teach that “in beauty it is begun. In beauty it is complete. May all beings walk in beauty.” To walk with beauty is to walk with life. No closed circles. No separation.

The Fall Equinox is when there is a balance of light and darkness. The beauty way is walking in balance just as the cycle of time shows us and teaches us. Come spend the afternoon together as we practice walking in beauty, walking in harmony, walking in balance. It is to walk with life just as it is. Your life, just as it is and perhaps, to not turn away.

The day will be devoted to meditation, sharing, ritual and conversations.

Fee: $45 members, $65 non-members
